Society draws a line between licit and illicit drugs and how they are dealt with. Talk about some examples and describe situations where the use of licit drugs can result in abuse. Alcohol is the obvious one, but look beyond that with some examples. What substance classified as a “drug” is the most surprising to you.
The materials discuss the global “industry” called the drug trade. The “industry” is a mammoth one no matter how one describes it. Suggest some non-traditional ideas for what can be done to dismantle this “industry”. Think about prior approaches the illicit organizations and how effective they were, and also think outside of the box, so to speak, and suggest other approaches.
